A day at the farm

What a beautiful day it was today. We did make it to Wolcott Farm Learning Center today. The boys loved going through all the barns, we even had a tour guide (since the oldest has already been there twice) and we got a wagon ride with the draft horses. My niece couldn't wait to get in the barns. The best is petting the donkey and the giggle to follow. What made you laugh today?

The amazing parts today were the oldest sounding out and saying broccoli. A child with so many speech drills and he is so ready for kindergarten. The best part of the farm trip for him was the old farm equipment and the chickens feet. The feathers on some of their feet just crack him up for some reason.

The youngest was pecked (pretty hard I might add) by a chicken on the farm and he didn't cry or fear the rest of the chickens. What a trooper, he walked right up to the girl holding the fancy chicken and pet him. The favorite part of the trip for him was the horse and wagon ride. He doesn't let go of your hand on the wagon but how much longer will that last?

If you ever get a chance to go to the farm, it is wonderful. Perfect size for little ones and what a great experience the wagon ride and tour were.

Even after all the fresh air and walking today the boys still managed to pull some energy from somewhere. It could be the McDonalds sundaes we had but who knows. While being three in this house is 10x worse than two ever was - we are into scratching our older brother. So again today he attacks the older brother and guess what the older wiser brother does? Locks him in the dog kennel until he can behave. I only tried to use the bathroom by myself and look what I missed.

I channeled some of their energy after dinner by having them ride their bikes and help me weed out the garden. They helped pick a zucchini, cucumber and a single tomato but they are still our hard work.

Hope you had a wonderful day. I certainly did with the boys and my niece.

What Energy

I know how crazy it is to be jealous of the energy kids have but wow!! I wish I had a fraction of the energy used by my boys in a day.

Today was speech for the youngest. While the letter sound of "K" shuts him down he continues to work very hard. The oldest ate until the hole in his foot was filled. So much for those size 8 pants I just bought for school.

The niece added into the mix today. While the Doodlebops were a huge favorite I was called and told various times today how she loves the birthday presents she just received from us. Being new at the aunt thing - what an awesome feeling when you get the perfect toys.

New day tomorrow. Plans to go to the farm and check out the animals and use up some of that energy.
