The Monster in him

At three years of age you can't even imagine what a monster the youngest is. In a matter of 15 minutes he removed the door from the buffet in the play room and played with the screws, tore pieces up from The Very Hungry Caterpillar game, broke the limbs from Flippin Frogs, and stuffed toys into crevices of Piranha Panic that I didn't even realize were there. So in the garbage can they all went and the wailing began from both of them.

I shouldn't wonder why I get labeled the worst mom when I throw stuff away.

So when everyone looks into his big brown eyes and says how cute he is just remember he can turn at any moment :)

Huron Pointe Sportsman Club

On Sunday we went to Heritage Days with my dad, Miss C, and my brothers. The boys all took a hunter safety crash course, went through the Lenox Twp Smoke House (which is an experience I thought was awesome) and made our way through a whole afternoon of family events.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Department was on hand with their mounted officers, Swat team and dive teams. The kids were excited to climb aboard the dive teams truck, the marine teams boat and the Swat teams vehicle was something I hope they never have to see out on the streets.

The kids all painted shirts, birdhouses/boats, face paintings, blow up slide, pony rides (courtesy of the grandparents), we had lunch together and just had a wonderful time.

I can see us doing that every year!! What an experience for the whole family. We seen a lot of familiar faces there and the weather was beautiful. Guess what guys?? It didn't even rain on us!

Where to begin??

This week has been crazy and yes it is only Wednesday. The boys have had their fill of each other and don't do much besides argue with each other. I sat them down today and made them each say one thing they liked about the other. 10 minutes later I hear from the oldest that he likes to color with the big fat idiot he has for a brother. I guess it is a start right?

After telling the boys not to play with the video camera I had to take it away as they nearly dropped it off the tripod. That started the snowball effect of being the worst mom ever again. The oldest let me know that he was going to live in a tent forever, that way he didn't have to talk to me. (I know the first noise outside he would be back) I am giving myself kudos for not pitching that tent tonight.

Ask the youngest why he bit his brother on the back of the neck and he replies "Because I wanted to." I guess I asked a question right?

The funny antics of a day.

Worst mom

We went to Staples today to get the free office supplies they offer and my oldest tells me I am the worst mom ever because I won't buy him a calculator. Going into kindergarten and there is no known list of school supplies to be seen and still I get the worst mom ever award. I could think of things much worse than that to get the award but I have to start somewhere right? Tomorrow is another day!!

The plans for the boys this week is to make their own web show. I guess ICarly is more influence than I thought on them. You should see the backgrounds they are creating and writing down the scrips they need. What a hoot!

Only a few more weeks of summer and I am pretty sure I know why parents can't wait for their kids to go back to school. I know they are bored but the ugly attitudes that go with it - wow.

If you are reading this and your mother has a distressed look on her face - take it easy on her and don't pull the worst mom ever card. Cut her some slack.

Not another boring day

Here it is a couple weeks before school starts and I don't know who is more nervous. The oldest makes himself sick by talking about school and the youngest doesn't have a care in the world. I called the school today and tried to balance first day jitters, speech schedule and a bus schedule with the secretary. We will have a call back from the principal to get the oldest in the school before the first day. I was very grateful for that since we have been making ourselves sick the past couple of days.

So the oldest is sick to his stomach all the time lately - the youngest is just ugly for whatever reason and it is still a great time with them. We picked up two kitties last week Moe and Joe. Ironic that when you call them they will be MOJO like Transformers. (A day in the life of boys). They are 8 weeks old(ish) and into everything.

Seems like a boring day in the house but really when you get to play outside, play with new kittens, go to the library party for the kids who read 8 hours or more for the summer, play at the township park and then get ice cream from Puppa and Miss C - who could ask for a better day?

What a great time we had

I can't believe it has been only a couple of days since I wrote last. The things I could write about would become a small novel. So lets go with our camping trip this week.

On Tuesday we went to KOA in Port Huron. What an awesome campsite. We (the boys and I) stayed in a cabin next to my dad and brothers (Miss C also). The boys rode John Deere power wheels, we went to the train depot to be rained out, we went swimming, did excessive shopping in the little store - but we all love our penguin charms. Dad did a great job of cooking dinner and breakfast - what a change not to be doing the cooking. I did the breakfast dishes but was only in charge of hanging out with everyone. I have so much fun with my brothers, they are great.

While my youngest got up at 5 am on Tuesday to ask to go camping, he was tucked away in his bed last night at 8:30 pm. The oldest got his two smores in and then was out for the count at 9:30 pm. He has also decided that he is the best smores maker. The early bedtime was a blessing when you considered the 5:45 am wake up call of walking to the bathroom, and the 6:30 am revisit to the bathroom. While our neighbors were all sleeping we had to keep the youngest in the cabin with his excessive amount of energy. Even at 6:30 am that child has an abundance of energy to burn. The car ride home allowed them both to get naps in. Granted I had to wake the younger one up twice to finish chewing his lunch but we make it home all the same.

I couldn't have asked for a more relaxing time. I had so much fun with my family and fun with the boys. Swimming, the colored bonfire, delicious meals, driving through the campground in the rain, learning to play Boucce ball and spending time with everyone.

Next is the boat races in Algonac. I can't wait to take the boys to check out the fast boats and the kid activities they have planned there on Saturday.
